It's really fun to see your favorite characters drawn in such a relatively unconventional way. It kind of makes me feel "closer" to them as characters or something. Like, seeing that they've changed, but that their essence is still pure, makes you appreciate things about them that go beyond the style they've drawn in. But not just anyone can do this. You've got to have an interesting style of your own and the will to really apply it to the characters while maintaining their essence.
